The frost has gone, the birds are chirping, and the flowers are starting to bloom. Spring has finally arrived! It has been a wet and stormy winter, but now that Spring is here, there is plenty to be excited about.

This is a great time of year to get out and enjoy the outdoors, and what better way to do that than by taking pictures?  The longer days and warmer weather provide the perfect opportunity to capture the beauty of nature.  The scenery is also so beautiful this time of year, with all the new growth and vibrant colour.

The light is softer and more flattering, making it ideal for taking portraits. And if you love nature photography, there are plenty of opportunities to capture the beauty of the season.

With the flowers blooming and the trees budding, there’s no shortage of subjects. The birds are starting their spring rituals and bumble bees are making the most of the blossoms.

From spring lambs to frolicking calves, there are all sorts of cute creatures to photograph and bring back the positivity that’s often stifled over winter. So get out your camera and start exploring! We've all spent so much time cooped up indoors.

Spring is known to play host to a number of events and ceremonies that could make for great photo ops. Sports teams either wrap up the season or start their training in Spring, so there are bound to be some great action shots.  School sports are a case in point.

Look out for local school fundraising fetes, pet shows and A&P shows during September through November. Maybe you know a child who is preparing a garden or raising a pet who would love some professional looking photos of their endeavours. Of course asking parents first.

In conclusion, don’t let the end of winter get you down, because Spring is a wonderful time for photography! Get out there and start snapping some shots!

Happy shooting!
